Radial Flow Settler
CATAQUA’s Radial Flow Settler (RFS) is used to remove particulates from effluent water. Effluent water enters the RFS Liquid Inlet, flows upward through the adjustable Standpipe Assembly, and back down through the Stilling Well. Solid particulates settle to the cone bottom for removal through a Solids Outlet. The filtered water flows upwards over a V-Notch Weir into the Launder, exiting though the Liquid Outlet. The structure is relatively simple and does not consume energy. The reasonable structure design is used to make full use of the laws of physics to carry out preliminary separation of pollutants. After testing, it can be seen that the separation efficiency of pollutants above 3mm is as high as 85%, the separation efficiency of 2-3mm is 68.5%, and the separation efficiency of 1-2mm is 57%.
RAS Recirculating aquaculture system
Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) series of treatment processes is utilized to maintain water quality in intensive fish farming operations. These steps of Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) are often done in order or sometimes in tandem.
After leaving the vessel holding fish the water is first treated for solids before entering a biofilter to convert ammonia, next degassing and oxygenation occur, often followed by heating/cooling and sterilization. Each of these processes can be completed by using a variety of different methods and equipment, but regardless all must take place to ensure a healthy environment that maximizes fish growth and health.
